The Learner will:
- List philanthropic activities occurring in their own home, in their classroom, or in their school and analyze the relationship between "community need" and "private action."
- Define philanthropy and list the traditions and values of Native American giving and sharing.
- Analyze philanthropic acts and give examples of how they act selflessly.
- Define Human Rights and investigate people who have taken action to fight for Human Rights.
- Be able to identify philanthropic values of various historic figures.
- Provide service in the community through an academic service learning project.
Students will team up with members of a retirement community to accomplish learning tasks.
