Homework Assignment

Dear Family,

As part of our unit on Sharing and Saving Across Generations, the students are learning about the memories of past generations as well as their own impact on future generations. We will read a book called Just a Dream in which we will be challenged to recycle and conserve resources for future generations. I have asked your child to think about items that could be reused or recycled.

Please work with your child to find one object in your home that you would normally throw away and come up with an alternate use for that object. For example, a frozen concentrate juice can could be decorated to become a pencil holder, or an old yogurt container could be used to wash paint brushes.

Please have your child bring this object into school by ____________. Your child should be prepared to explain the new use they have discovered for this object.
