Positions in a Nonprofit Organization

A non-profit is made up of volunteers and staff. Both perform the daily activities and tasks of the organization and make up the various organization committees.

Volunteers and staff may be supervised by various Executive Officers. Those include, but are not limited to, Development Director, Marketing Director and Program Coordinator. Executive Officers are responsible to their Executive Director (also known as CEO or Chief Executive Officer).

The Executive Director brings proposals from his Executive Officers to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is the final check for all decisions. They review all proposed programs and costs. They are personally financially liable for their organization.
