Puppet of Me
Work together as a family to create a puppet model of your child’s face with the materials provided.
First, help the child write on a small sheet of paper some personal traits, interests and things he/she is good at. For example, "I am quiet, I like soccer and I am good at listening."
Color the paper plate to match student’s skin color. Glue hair (yarn) and wiggly eyes to the paper plate. Draw a mouth and color.
Stuff the bag with newspaper and close it with about 16" of yarn (leave the ends free). Glue the face to the front of the bag. Glue the small sheet of paper on the back of the bag.
The student should bring the completed puppet to school tomorrow.
Stronger Together—United in a Family
Write a complete sentence about something you do better as a family than as individuals. Return the completed sentence to school.
Together we are more powerful than alone. What can we do better together?
