Students will:
- identify philanthropic examples in everyday life.
- complete the stewardship surveys.
- use vocabulary related to stewardship in a poem.
- identify their talents and what they do with their time and treasures.
Students will meet with younger students to present a story about a character who uses their time, talent, or treasure to help others. They will present these stories that they have written as a gift.
Students will role-play philanthropic activities. They will also create acrostic poems using the word stewardship. Students will write a story for younger students about a character that uses his/her time, talent or treasure to help the world or others. Students will answer journal questions as a way of demonstrating their understanding of philanthropy.
While written for a Catholic Elementary School, the lesson may be easily adapted for public school use.
