One Forty-Minute Class Period
The learner will:
- illustrate a classroom rule.
- explain how a rule helps the common good.
To share their knowledge of rules and how they help the common good, students may select one general school rule and design posters to be posted throughout the school as a reminder to other students of the benefits of following school rules.
Anticipatory Set:
Walk students to nearby posters displayed in the school building. Read the messages to the class as they view them. Return to the classroom.
Scoring Guide
| 2 | The picture clearly illustrates a rule (or the student can explain how the picture illustrates the rule). The student can orally explain how the rule meets the common good. |
| 1 | The picture clearly illustrates a rule (or the student can explain how the picture illustrates the rule) but the student cannot orally explain how the rule meets the common good. Or The student can orally explain how the rule meets the common good but the student's picture does not illustrate a rule. |
| 0 | The picture does not illustrate a rule and the student cannot orally explain how the rule meets the common good. |
