When you are interested in taking action to make a change, it is helpful to first get a clear picture of what resources exist in your community and where the gaps are. This activity helps young people plot specific resources on a map, which helps identify patterns and connections and builds evidence and partnerships for taking steps to make a change. change.
Group agreements are a list of statements formed by the group that expresses what the group needs in order to feel safe, supported, and productive together. They help us do our work because we feel our voice matters to others and we want to hear from others.
This resource was developed in collaboration with the Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF) Youth Philanthropy Task Force powered by Michigan youth, CMF members, and nonprofit leaders.
Teach traits such as responsibility, fairness, and integrity through 20-minute creative lesson plans that provoke conversation and reflection. These character education mini-units, created by teachers for middle school classrooms, contain critical thinking, group interaction, and application of philanthropic principles while students explore nine different character traits.
