The learners will be introduced to philanthropy and be able to generate examples of various ways the community is impacted, either by individuals, families or community organizations.
Learners will define government and describe a democratic republic with a Constitution. They identify the role of government at all levels - national, state, and local and talk about what young people can do to have a voice.
The learners examine the responsible choices of Lorenzo de Zavala who was a leader in Texas and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
