Unit: Philanthropy 101 Course of The Westminster Schools
Unit: Hurricane Katrina / Great Hanshin-Awaji Disaster Collaboration
This lesson introduces the learner to some of the resources--individual, organizational (for profit and non profit), and governmental-- available to provide forewarning/alert, preparedness programs, as well as relief during and in the aftermath of natural disasters.
The learners will become aware of human need brought about by natural disasters and will compare domestic experiences with parallel events on the other side of the world.

Unit: Personal Giving Mission Statement
Learners look at nonprofit mission statements and then create a personal mission statement related to the impact they want to make as responsible, engaged citizens.

Unit: Roots of Philanthropy (Teen)
Youth Activity: Young people watch a video of people telling what they think "philanthropy" means. Then they conduct their own interviews to gather information about the understanding of the concept of philanthropy.
Unit: Healthy Youth, Healthy Community (6-8)
Students explore what it means to be responsible citizens and identify ways they are (or can be) responsible at home, in school, and in the community. They create a survey related to people's perceptions of community health and poll members of the community to identify needs.
Unit: Cultural Competence
This lesson raises awareness of the different ways mental health may reflect in how we think, feel, and act. We can prioritize mental health, like we do with our physical health. This lesson includes a slide deck with tools for what to do when our mental health needs attention.
