Learners become aware of the factors that lead to endangered species and explore how people can become good stewards of the environment.
The purpose of this lesson is for the learners to understand the meaning of endangered species and to explore what causes some plants and animals to become extinct.
The purpose of this lesson is to give each learner an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of an endangered species (animal) of their own choosing. Each learner will "adopt" an endangered animal to research. They will then write and illustrate a non-fiction text, based on their research, designed to educate others about their selection and what could be done to prevent the extinction of their selected species.
The purpose of this lesson is to help learners identify an animal species in danger of becoming extinct and to involve them in a fund-raising project to "adopt" this endangered species.
