Unit Overview 

Learners gain a deeper understanding of philanthropy by studying a great philanthropist from their community. Students will recognize the importance of philanthropy in the community and the importance of becoming involved.

Service Experience 
After a field trip in which students will view the contributions of one of the city's greatest philanthropists, students will decide on an action they can take to improve their school or community.
