How Prophet-able Are You?
How can our voice be used to make communities stronger?

Learners explore issues of social justice and analyze the qualities and roles of a prophet/advocate, such as the classical prophets Amos and Hosea, as well as contemporary prophets. The learners advocate to address social injustices.
Learners will cite historical examples of social injustice and then identify perceived social injustices today. They will identify and share incidents in their lives when they confronted such experiences.
Learners will define the role of prophets/advocates in society and name qualities and characteristics of an effective prophet.
Learners will analyze classical literature of the ancient Hebrew prophets identifying societal injustices. They will speculate on how the common good could have been improved if people had heeded the words of the prophets.
Learners will recognize persons who might be considered modern day prophets or advocates for social justice and explain how they have made considerable contributions toward the common good.
