Social Action Project (The)
How does an individual use personal interests and strengths to impact the common good?

Students take action to address a social issue. They learn the process of service-learning and use different approaches to communicate with others about the need.
The purpose of this lesson is to introduce the students to the Social Action Project.
The students will write a business letter to the service professional organization they have chosen requesting information about the organization and its cause. This information will be the foundation for the research paper each student will write.
Students will be able to write a research paper on their participation in the project.
Students will be able to demonstrate the importance of promotion and advertising to recruit individuals to participate in a philanthropic organization.
Students will share their experiences volunteering for a philanthropic organization with others.
