Students will apply what they learned about Spider-Man's philanthropic actions to other superheroes, and they will express their findings to the class in the form of a short presentation.

Objectives:
The learner will
- identify the philanthropic actions of superheroes other than Spider-Man.
- work with a group to prepare a presentation on these findings to the class.
- make a lively and interesting class presentation in which he/she will demonstrate competency in evaluating literature, identifying issues, synthesizing and evaluating information to draw conclusions and implications based on his/her investigation of an issue or problem.
Materials:
- Presentation Rubric for evaluation of presentations (Handout One)
- Group Member Evaluation form (Handout Two) Spanish version (Handout Three)

Anticipatory Set:
Put students in groups of three or four or have students choose their own groups.
- Take students to the library or computer lab to research the philanthropic deeds of other superheroes. (Chances are students will already have some ideas and this will be a matter of finding comics or video clips.)Possible sites for students to use for research:www.Marvel.com www.dccomics.comwww.amazon.com
- Go over the presentation rubric, discussing elements of a quality presentation.
- Allow two to three days for research and developing their presentation.
- Have students present their findings to the class.
