This lesson is a celebration to culminate this intergenerational project. The students make a final visit to the senior center or retirement home where all the participants gather for a snack and a farewell celebration. Students give their published Living History Books to their senior friends....

This culminating activity gives students an opportunity to teach about our land to others. They spread the word that "commons" are needed, and that when people work together nothing is impossible....
Unit: Everyday Acts of Citizenship
Through this activity participants will become aware of their own feelings about others, and the racial, cultural and socio-economic biases in society today. Participants will analyze their own feelings in light of this awareness.
