Youth will determine which group would be in need of their talents.
This lesson will emphasize that our community in the school is an important part of students' lives and building that community must start with trusting one other student. This lesson gives the students a chance to share their new knowledge of trust and community with other students and also allows them to learn through Multiple Intelligences.
Students will listen to a grant-making foundation representative and complete a grant request form.
Students will see an example of philanthropy in Native American culture in literature. They will then analyze their own special gifts or talents and determine how the family can gain from them.
This lesson explores the difference volunteers make in our world. The children recognize that even they can volunteer and make a difference in their community.
Learners will discover the definition of trust in an interactive way.
Students will develop a set of rules that could be used in the classroom.
