Youth are capable of making informed and responsible decisions about grantmaking, and many organizations put youth in charge of funds that impact community. The history and goals of youth philanthropy and grantmaking efforts include a variety of methods and organizations.
This activity will provide an opportunity for the youth and a professionals/community leaders to get acquainted. This will help start the team-building process among board members and youth philanthropists and demonstrate part of the process of “building community.”
