Anticipatoy Set

Advocacy means writing or speaking in favor of, or supporting, a cause. Donating money is only way to help serve your community. We can speak up to raise awareness and make changes to things that aren't fair.  This video explains the importance of advocacy and how to advocate for issues in your community.

Understanding Advocacy and Action

1. What does it mean to advocate for a cause?

2. Think of and share an example of doing research as a form of advocacy.

3. Why is action for the common good, good for all?

Follow-Up Activity

Pick an issue you are passionate about and feel compelled to advocate for. Then, do some research on the subject and create a presentation on the issue to give to your youth philanthropy group or others. What did you learn that you didn't know before? Going forward, what is one action you can take to advocate for the issue you selected?
