  1. Anticipatory Set

    Write the following Barbara Jordan quote on the board and reflect on whether it is realistic and true for everyone. 

    "If you are politically inclined, you may be President of the United States. All my growth and development led me to believe that if you really do the right thing, and if you play by the rules, and if you’ve got good enough, solid judgment and common sense, that you’re going to be able to do whatever you want to do with your life." –Barbara Jordan

  2. Learners reflect in writing on the question, "How does honesty help oneself and the common good?" And "How does thinking about the common good help with decision-making when the rules aren't clear?"
