Putting It All Together
Youth will experience the pride of producing a finished book. They will realize the value of their contribution to the community. Finally, they will celebrate the hard work and efforts that made their project possible.

Instructions
Anticipatory Set: How will we bring all of our projects together? Our next step is to take all of the individual work we have done and to pull it together to create something historically valuable.
Gather all completed independent projects. Compile the projects into book form. (Note: Final project can be published through an online publishing source such as Lulu. Consider charging the cost of publication or using the book sales as a fundraiser to generate funds for a community project.)
Ask youth to design invitations for the release party. Each youth is responsible for bringing the names and addresses of those who contributed to their individual projects. Together address envelopes and mail out invitations. Invitations will also be sent to members of the town council, school administrators, and families.
Host the party. Ask families to help by bringing food. Ask volunteers to help set up before the party and clean up afterwards. At the party, distribute copies of your finished book and celebrate the excitement of producing something that will be valued for years to come! At the celebration, ask youth and guests to describe the value of this contribution to the common good of the community.
