Learners discover how celebrities demonstrate their caring by giving their time, talent and treasure and taking action for specific causes. It gives the learners an opportunity to begin to think of what they care about.

Learners explore ways to be honest in communication, writing with clear purpose and honest intent.

Learners look at the role exercise plays in overall health.  They make a plan to engage younger children in more active play and exercise.

Children learn that the community has four sectors: business, government, nonprofit, and family. The children may walk through an area in their local community to identify which sector is represented by different places. As an alternative, they may look at a local map. 

Learners brainstorm universal obstacles to completing tasks and meeting goals.

Learners reflect in writing about how they can use their personal resources and interests to make a difference in someone's life.

Youth make a plan as empowered and responsible members of the civil society to take action to prevent bullying behavior while being sensitive to the people involved, from the victim to the bystander to the bully.

Through discussion and a game, children identify the value of education to individuals and the community.

Learners talk about the uses of water and understand its importance to our world.

Explore the role of philanthropy in responding to emergencies, specifically personal and group efforts to support communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
