Unit: Grow Involved 3-5
Students will define philanthropy and identify ways in which Johnny Appleseed acted as a philanthropist through environmental stewardship. After identifying ways in which they personally act as philanthropists, they will raise awareness of philanthropy in the school and home.
The students will set a personal goal and make a plan for using self-discipline to meet the goal. They will reflect on their level of self-discipline and their determination to increase that level as they mature.
Learners reflect on issues that people tend to look the other way from to avoid facing difficult situations. They write an honest reflection on issues they can take action to address.
