This energizer activity provides a fast and fun way to learn about the word philanthropy and its meaning.

Youth Activity: Students add to their “philanthropic” vocabulary with an alphabet activity to gain a better understanding of the actions and deeds of philanthropy.

Youth Activity: Young people watch a video of people telling what they think "philanthropy" means. Then they conduct their own interviews to gather information about the understanding of the concept of philanthropy. 

Youth Activity: This ten-minute activity is a good workshop energizer to take a break, refresh student energy, and have fun learning the word philanthropy.

To produce paintings or drawings that represent their “Dream of Peace” and that are submitted to an art competition.

To help students see music as an art form that identifies social injustice, advocates for change, and proclaims hope on behalf of the forgotten.

To help students understand how to use their voices to advocate for causes about which they care. 

To help students understand how nonprofit organizations effectively address issues of poverty, food insecurity, immigration, and disenfranchisement locally and globally. To help students experience and understand how farming works.

To help students understand the challenges of feeding a family a healthy meal on a limited budget.

To have students identify the things that are important in their lives as a means of finding a “passion” or “passions” the class holds in common. Students will then identify causes that deal with an issue related to their shared passion. This will guide the teacher in selecting and promoting potential community partners for the Urban EdVenture Final Project.
