Focus Question

What can young people do and say about big issues like immigrant and refugee experieces?

Unit Overview

This set of podcasts focuses on immigrant and refugee experiences. In each episode, young people interview guests on their expertise and experience related to what it is like to be an immigrant or refugee and people who help. The youth-run podcast "Kids are Philanthropists, Too!" demonstrates what we all can learn from young people who have embraced their philanthropic identity and capacities.

This is a perfect opportunity to hear kids talk with intelligence, maturity and empathy about personal and social issues. Listening and discussing is the perfect way to start conversations with young people in your life.

Hosted by The Giving Square, these podcasts and discussions are for people of all ages to explore important social challenges with kids (ages 10-12) as your guides.

Service Experience
Young people can listen and ask questions with empathy about immigrant and refugee experiences. They may learn what they can do to support their friends or about nonprofits in their community who need their help. Listening and discussion are perfect ways to move toward action that makes a difference. Youth voice matters.
