To give students time to reflect on the course of study each week and to encourage them to begin thinking of how to best make a monetary donation to an effective organization.

Students are given 30 minutes on their own to write reflectively about their personal experiences in the class. The "Reflection Prompt" Handout provides a starting point for reflections for the first weeks of class.
